Nine celebrities celebrate the anniversary of the Bitcoin whitepaper with short videos.
Nine celebrities have sent congratulations to Bitcoin ( BTC ) on the video platform Cameo to celebrate the twelfth anniversary of the publication of the white paper of the market-leading cryptocurrency on October 31st .
The corresponding short videos were initiated by the cybersecurity company Halborn
Well-known names such as David Hasselhoff, Charlie Sheen, Carole Baskin, Charlamagne Tha God, Gilbert Gottfried, Doug Benson, Hassan Johnson, Soulja Boy and RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan took part in the campaign.
Most celebrities, however, only reeled off ready-made statements and used their lack of knowledge about Bitcoin as a hook for comedic interludes. For example, Charlamagne Tha God asked himself whether the pictures he found while Googling “ Satoshi Nakamoto ” actually show the anonymous inventor of the crypto currency .
Dorian Nakamoto is not Satoshi Nakamoto, even if Google search spits out his picture
Actor and scandalous noodle Charlie Sheen again praised Satoshi Nakamoto for his invention, while his acting colleague David Hasselhoff claimed with a wink that he was the inventor of Bitcoin himself:
“I want to announce to the world that it was not Satoshi Nakamoto who invented Bitcoin, but that it all started with me, David Hasselhoff. I invented bitcoin. And I’ll keep everything I know about Bitcoin a secret. “
Carole Baskin, known from the Netflix documentary series Tiger King, again emphasized the importance of contactless payments in times of the Corona crisis and concluded that the digital currency was „the future“.
Meanwhile, rapper and music producer RZA threw into the room that there might be “a Wu-Tang Bitcoin one day”.
October 31st is the anniversary of the publication of the Bitcoin whitepaper, but the first block of the cryptocurrency was only dismantled on January 3rd, 2009.
